Medical Terminology
Medical Terminology is a one semester course that introduces students to the "language" of medicine.
We will learn the basic prefixes, root words and suffixes that make up terms used in charts, prescriptions, history and physicals, surgical reports, health care textbooks, etc. Our study also includes medical abbreviations, acronyms and eponyms used in the health care field.
The state adopted textbook is Introduction to Medical Terminology by Ehrlich and Schroeder; it presents medical terminology in a body systems approach.
You will need a strong foundation in Medical Terminology to help you understand the material taught in the Health Science classes you will take your 10th, 11th and 12th grade years.
